Recent event

NDISDA, SILSDA, and the Impact Housing National Strategic Alliance are proud to have hosted the sold-out, two-day Queensland Conference – Bridging Impact Housing Solutions: SDA, Community and SIL | SDA Queensland: Maximising SIL Impact 2025 – on 27th and 28th August 2025  which welcomed more than 150 attendees.

The conference, carefully planned throughout 2024 and backed by committed sponsors, reflected the trust and demand of the sector, with tickets snapped up early in the year.

Just days before the event, Four Corners aired its episode on empty SDA vacancies -an issue NDISDA has long been addressing through forums across Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. These conversations remain central to our mission: tackling the real issues in SDA, fostering genuine collaboration, and shaping solutions for Australia’s most vulnerable.

With Queensland State leaders and key influencers joining the stage, discussions were both meaningful and impactful. Day 1 spotlighted SDA, mental health, crisis accommodation, modern construction methods, and social housing.

A central question emerged: " Would you invest in SDA knowing what you know now?"  Michael Fuller (Fuller Insights) confirmed he would, highlighting the opportunities created through partnership with the Impact Housing National Strategic Alliance.

Mental health Commission leaders reinforced the importance of fit-for-purpose design, while Queensland Health underscored the urgent need to house over 1,000 people still in hospital.

Highlights included modular construction solutions (Alex Miscamble, Sigma Build), housing and disability reform frameworks (Queensland Public Advocate), SDA alignment with social housing (Jeremy Soden), robust housing design (Niti Prakash), valuation challenges (Martin Fallon), participant-centred architecture (Bill Katsabis, CBG Architects), and SIL repurposing strategies (David Esler).

Panels featuring Peta Fensham-Cobbs (Multicap) and Brent Woolgar (DSC) deepened the dialogue following the Four Corners broadcast. Across all sessions, the consistent theme was collaboration to improve participant outcomes.

This event marked the conclusion of our three-part Bridging Impact Housing Solutions and SILSDA series (Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane), but it is far from the end.

Future roundtables, workshops, seminars, and an expo are already planned to continue these vital conversations. NDISDA remains committed to ethical, transparent, and solutions-driven dialogue—reinvesting every ticket into strengthening the sector, upholding good governance, and evolving with its needs.

The conversation has only just begun. Join us at our upcoming Expo, Roundtables, Workshops, and Networking on 23 October 2025 at the BTP Conference Centre as we continue to advance SDA and impact housing solutions together. See here for more information

Why attend our SDA and Impact Housing Events?

We offer more than conferences—we provide a purpose-driven platform built to inform, update, connect, and educate.

As a neutral, sector-bridging Professional Network and Event organisation, we do not deliver services that compete with those of our attendees.

This independence allows us to remain impartial, impactful, and fully committed to empowering the sector—free from commercial interests or obligations

Our focus is on equipping professionals with the insights, networks, and strategies they need to respond to change, drive innovation, and lead with confidence.

2025 marks our 25th Specialist Disability Accommodation conferences, held in every major Australian city—Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Darwin.  We are the Pioneers for SDA with events commencing in 2020, educating and updating all disciplines  with changes across the country

With a strong reputation for high-quality engagement, our events are fully attendee-funded—no free tickets, no incentives.

When our conferences sell out, it's because professionals across Australia recognise the value and invest in attending.

2025 is destined to be  Impactive!

In partnership with the Impact Housing National Strategic Alliance, NDISDA SDA Housing and Disability proudly presents the
Bridging Impact Housing Solutions 2025 Summit and the Maximising SIL Impact SILSDA 2025 Conference.

These two dynamic days will explore housing innovation, NDIS reform, compliance, and service delivery excellence across SDA, SIL, transitional, and community housing.

Join us to connect with sector leaders, gain actionable insights, and help shape a more inclusive, sustainable, and participant-focused housing system.
